Kaizen has a superb and unique opportunity for a Head of Design creative to join our award winning brand and design team.
As Head of Design, you will work on everything from national and international brand identity projects and campaigns, core graphic design and creative briefs. Joining this fast-growing creative agency, you’ll be working on some truly exciting and exceptional projects for established and recognised brands.

- You will build and nurture relationships between the agency and clients. As design lead for clients, you will help businesses achieve their goals through strategic campaigns and creative solutions.
- You’ll be hands on as a lead designer and as the creative agency grows, you’ll grow and shape the future of the design studio. We work on a hybrid model, with three days a week based at the Belfast studio and the option to work from home on two days.
What you'll do
- Maintain and enhance our prestigious reputation and award winning standard.
- Manage and develop the talented Kaizen design team. Nurture individual talent and build on the existing team ethic already present.
- Strategically, deliver and present exceptional creative projects including naming projects, brand identities, brand campaigns and everything under the graphic design umbrella. You will be taking clients and their projects from brief through to customer journey to full delivery of brand projects.
- Act as a strong point of contact between the agency and its clients.
- Work closely with the agency’s internal teams (creative, production, sales, digital etc.) to ensure timely and high- quality delivery of projects.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and beyond the clients expectation.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans, identifying growth opportunities and driving revenue growth.
- Ensure that client needs are effectively communicated to the agency’s creative team and that creative work is aligned with client objectives.
- Win over clients and provide the innovative creative solutions to Brand, Campaign and Design opportunities that Kaizen are recognised for.
- Lead, shape and develop the creative designs team to reach their optimum creative performance.
- Manage the Design budget, costs and productivity against the same
- Successfully and regularly pitch creative at the highest standard in industry.
- Upsell Kaizen as the creative solutions company (including digital and print) to new and existing clients.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role.
- Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills to deal with clients
- Must be well versed in current design trends and business concepts with good awareness on the needs of a modern creative brand agency.
- Experience in various software designs and systems including the full Adobe creative suite.
- A strong background in pitch and delivery of creative design projects.
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning.
- Proven leadership and communication skills and organisational abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic evolving environment supporting multiple types of work streams and projects.
- Strong people management skills

What You'll Need
- At least 6-8 years experience in a leading Creative agency environment as a creative leader, be a creative innovator and able to demonstrate the same
- Studio management experience, managing workflows, managing staff development.
- Strategic and creative problem solving capability.
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of the creative process and ability to effectively communicate and pitch creative ideas to clients.
- Experience in roll out of brands and campaigns across multiple channels.
- Excellent communication and relationship skills.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver the highest quality work on time and within budget.
