Ulster Garden Villages, a foundation with a powerful 78-year legacy and multi-million-pound impact, faced the critical challenge of translating its immense financial and community power into a cohesive, modern identity.
We rejected the outdated perception of the traditional charity, delivering a strategic brand architecture and digital experience that boldly positions them as a transparent, impactful powerhouse for Northern Irish communities.
We delivered a comprehensive brand refresh, creating a clean, modern identity that aligned with UGV’s values, ambitions and long-standing reputation. Central to the strategy was the development of two distinct sub-brands, UGV Philanthropy and UGV Property, establishing a clear brand architecture that better reflected the organisation’s breadth of work. Through a refreshed visual identity, compelling storytelling and a more people-focused brand approach, we positioned UGV as a progressive, community-driven organisation, showcasing the positive impact of its initiatives while strengthening recognition and trust. To ensure consistency across every touchpoint, we also developed a comprehensive brand toolkit for use by internal teams and stakeholders.

Ulster Garden Villages (UGV), founded in 1946, needed to bridge the gap between its profound financial and social impact (managing over 300 properties and awarding £1.5M in grants) and its increasingly outdated brand identity. The goal was to simplify the complexity of its dual operation, property management and charitable funding, and establish UGV as a modern, accessible organisation, particularly to streamline the application process for registered charities and community groups.
UGV now operates with a cohesive, inspiring brand that truly resonates with its audience. The new identity successfully separates and clarifies the two arms of the business (Property and Philanthropy), driving operational transparency. The streamlined digital platform and modern design have transformed UGV into a contemporary establishment, simplifying access for grant applicants and fostering stronger connections with the community. Ultimately, the project delivered a powerful online presence that confidently demonstrates UGV’s legacy, growth, and undeniable commitment to social impact in Northern Ireland.
