The Kaizen Perspective: Reposition Galway Races beyond traditional horse racing advertising and establish it as one of Ireland’s most exciting cultural events. The campaign needed to broaden its appeal, attract new audiences and create a distinctive identity.
We developed a unique campaign, standing out amongst the noise, which delivered a 10k increase in attendance.
We uncovered a simple truth: In a digital world where everything can be paused, rewatched – Galway Races isn’t something you can just rewatch, it’s something you experience. This inspired “No Replay. No Second Chances.” A campaign built around the fleeting nature of live moments, brought to life through a distinctive graphic system inspired by the racecourse itself, creating an ownable visual identity that made the festival feel fresh, urgent and impossible to miss.

Galway Races had strong heritage but its communications had become familiar, relying on predictable racing and betting cues. With limited time before launch, we had to modernise the brand, retain existing fans, inspire new audiences and build a campaign that could cut through in a crowded summer events market.
The campaign successfully repositioned Galway Races as a vibrant cultural festival, delivering record-breaking results. Attendance surpassed 100,000, with a 10,000 year-on-year uplift, alongside 29.8 million impressions, 450,000 clicks, and 16,764 purchase events. More importantly, it gave one of Ireland’s most iconic events a renewed, contemporary identity that resonated with both loyal racegoers and a new generation of festival audiences.
